The Statistics: Strong performance in third-period earns win for Everton against Burnley

After a goalless first half Everton seized control of the game against Burnley in the second. Ultimately Everton won Monday’s home game in the Premier League 3-1.

The first half was goalless, but straight after half-time, Ben Mee made his mark as he netted, with an assist by Johann Gudmundsson, to give Burnley the lead.

With 30 minutes on the clock, Everton’s Michael Keane found the net with an assist by Andros Townsend, and equalised.

Andros Townsend just five minutes later, with an assist by Abdoulaye Doucoure, ensuring the team took the lead.

Everton increased the lead to 3-1 one minut later as Demarai Gray scored, with an assist by Abdoulaye Doucoure. Gray then completed the team’s come back. The 3-1 goal was the last goal of the game.

It was Burnley’s fourth game in a row without a win.

Burnley have had a poor start and have only one point from their first four games. Everton are on 10 points.

The last meeting between the teams ended in a 2-1 away win for Burnley in March 2021.

Everton are unbeaten at home, after one game.
